Abstract:
National Parks Mapping Patch.
The National Parks Mapping Patch is an ad-hoc dataset used to enable seamless display of NPS Parks data within the District of Columbia on the DC Office of Planning standard basemaps.
DCOP standard basemaps are generated with National Parks (NPS Map A) and Planimetric Water Bodies (WaterPly). Along the major water bodies (Potomac River and Anacostia River), visible gaps appear on the generated map between the edges of the water and park datasets.
The National Parks Mapping Patch is used to "touch-up" the display of National Parks data.
All DCOP data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Purpose:
This data is used to assist in the display of National Parks within DC Office of Planning standard maps. It is not to be used for analytical purposes and is to be solely used for display purposes.
It is to be used in conjuction and grouped with the current NPS Parks dataset to facilitate seamless mapping of National Parks data.
