Ambassador Residence. This database contains point locations of foreign chanceries, and chancery annexes in the National Capital Region (NCR)., created as part of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and participating D.C. government agencies.
A database provided by the U.S. Department of State (DOS), National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) identified Foreign Chancery locations.
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Purpose:
This data is used for the planning and management of Washington, D.C. by local government agencies.

Staff converted the source information, provided in Excel format, to dbase format Staff then address matched the table to the DC Master Address Repository (MAR). Those records that were no automatically geocoded were hand placed using the planimetrics, 2005 orthophoto, and MAR. Points were then moved on to their appropriate building footprint on MAR points.
